Deidra Sisk (she/her), MS, RD, LDN, CEDS-C is an eating disorder dietitian, certified eating disorder specialist consultant, and the clinical supervisor at Ruby Oak Nutrition. Deidra practices from a weight-inclusive lens and specializes in counseling those with eating disorders of all ages and is passionate about working with adults and teenagers.

Deidra received her Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS), both in Nutrition Science, from East Carolina University and became a Licensed Dietitian (LDN) in 2015. She shifted her nutrition career path to focus on eating disorders after her earlier work with low-income families quickly taught her that disordered habits do not discriminate based on race, age, gender, or social, health, or economic status. She has 8 years of experience working with all levels of care for eating disorder treatment centers, and 5 years of experience working with outpatient chronic disease management. Her places of experience include The Meadows Ranch (formerly Remuda Ranch), Empowerment Treatment and Counseling, and Nutrition in Motion.

Her greatest passion for her career comes from seeing her own patients become healthier versions of themselves. “It is so rewarding to see: a young adult graduate high school with honors after struggling with their ability to focus for years, a woman get married with the freedom to eat her wedding cake after years of avoiding sweets, and even a patient with a chronic condition get off of medication that they were told they’d have to take the rest of their life,” she says. She will work with anyone willing to make their goals a reality and loves being a part of the process that gets them there.

In addition to supporting patients in eating disorder recovery, Deidra oversees the clinical operations of Ruby Oak Nutrition and manages our team of dietitians. She also serves as a mentor for clinicians who would like to grow their eating disorder treatment skills.

Outside of work, Deidra participates in local team trivia, and she is on the board for Ricky’s Retreat, a non-profit dedicated to saving the lives of people struggling with mental health crises. She likes to read novels, ride her bike, and spend quality time with her husband, Joey, and little dog, Trudy.

What people say about Deidra

"She, like the other dietitians at Ruby Oak, takes a weight - neutral "health at every size" approach that focuses on nourishment over restriction."

I have had such a wonderful experience working with Deidra Sisk at Ruby Oak. I am so grateful for her grace, knowledge, patience and support. She, like the other dietitians at Ruby Oak, takes a weight – neutral “health at every size” approach that focuses on nourishment over restriction. She has experience with patients chronic illness and I really appreciate that she is frank about what data there is (and isn’t) for any given kind of intervention.

I can be honest with her when I struggle because I know she’ll be supportive and practical. I recommend her with complete confidence and enthusiasm and have given her name to friends and colleagues and strangers on the internet.

"Deidra is incredibly professional, friendly, and informative."

I can’t say enough positive things about Deidra and Ruby Oak! Deidra is incredibly professional, friendly, and informative. She made my mom feel completely at ease during their meeting, answering all her questions with professionalism and sensitivity.

What truly stands out is how engaged my mom is in her nutritional plan for the first time in decades. I credit this entirely to Deidra’s exceptional bedside manner, deep professional knowledge, and thoughtful approach. The meeting exceeded all expectations, and it’s clear that Deidra genuinely cares about her clients’ well-being.

If you’re looking for a nutritionist who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly invested in helping you succeed, I highly recommend Deidra and Ruby Oak!

"Deidra brings dedication, knowledge, and is incredibly easy to coordinate with."

Collaborating with Deidra has been a wonderful experience for me as a mental health provider. Deidra brings dedication, knowledge, and is incredibly easy to coordinate with. It has been great to see Deidra’s work with our clients who experience eating disorders and approaching treatment from a non-diet and health at every size perspective. I recommend her for anyone looking for a dietician to provide guidance, education and support as they move toward recovery from their eating disorder!

"Deidra is AMAZING!!"

Where do I begin? Deidra is AMAZING!! My daughter and I both suffer from eating disorders! My daughter and I both see Deidra separately, Deidra works out goals and plans for both of us. I am 50 and my daughter is 15 and she is able to break it down for both of us where we can understand and Deidra meets us where we are in our journey. My daughter has been hospitalized several times for her ED and suffered so cruelly! Deidra has helped her so much! Deidra supports my daughter in every way possible, including joining my daughters 504 meeting! Deidra showed up like a BOSS during that meeting and made sure my daughter had everything she needed to succeed, even though she left her husbands doctor appointment to join via zoom. If you are searching for a knowledge, caring, supportive and BOSS please reach out to Deidra!! I promise you will get the support and help you need to succeed! Look, I am 50 years and have suffered since I was 14 with my ED and FINALLY working with Deidra I am getting a handle on this beast!! Side note.. She will always want you to limit coffee and drink more water, and no she will not buy that you use water to make coffee. lol! just a warning!
