Workplace Wellness Programming with Dietitian Nutritionists
Individualized nutrition counseling for your employees, covered by insurance. Our workplace wellness offerings boosts employee well-being and reduces healthcare costs, without the administrative burden of traditional programs.
Workplace wellness should be empowering, not stressful. (For your employees and your HR team.)
Remember that episode of The Office where Kelly crash diets, eats a “tapeworm,” and eventually passes out before the office-wide weigh-in on the scale in the warehouse? Us too. It’s the perfect example of everything that’s wrong with old-school workplace wellness programs that focus on weight loss, outdated dieting advice, and unrealistic expectations.
At Ruby Oak Nutrition, we do things differently. We know that empowered employees are healthier, happier, and more engaged at work. Unlike traditional wellness programs that focus on weight loss and dieting, we take an inclusive approach that prioritizes sustainable habits and holistic health. We also understand that HR professionals are juggling enough as it is, so we take care of all the marketing, planning, scheduling, and billing for you.
Our on-site or virtual nutrition offerings are designed to meet your employees where they are.
Our expert dietitians deliver workplace wellness solutions that go beyond surface-level changes. We meet employees where they are (whether they’re in the office or working remotely, and whether they’re just starting on their health journey or well on their way) and help them meet their health goals in ways that actually work long-term.
What does this look like in practice?
We’re in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, UMR, Medcost, Meritain, and the North Carolina State Employee Health Plan. We can verify your company’s nutrition counseling benefits and to confirm your employees’ coverage.
We focus on 3 key areas of wellness:
Nourishment
We use an intuitive eating framework that honors the way food affects us physically, socially, and emotionally.
Movement
We take an approach to physical activity that emphasizes movement, not just exercise, that’s fun and sustainable.
Mindfulness
Everything we teach is rooted in mindfulness, because learning to listen to your body is a game-changer for well-being.
Our workplace wellness offerings
Whether you’re interested in just a single lunch-and-learn or a bigger package of services, we’ll work with you to create a custom program that works for your employees.
Individual nutrition counseling with an on-site or virtual dietitian
Did you know that your company’s health plan probably covers several visits with a dietitian at no out-of-pocket cost? Most people don’t, but having a dietitian come to your office (or host a remote day for your company) is a great way to encourage your employees to take advantage of a benefit that can boost their well-being, lower their chronic disease risk, and improve their relationship with food.
We’ll organize a day when your employees can book 30-minute appointments with a dietitian to get their nutrition questions answered and learn more about how we can help them reach their health goals. We handle planning, scheduling, and billing, and we’ll create custom marketing materials to help you spread the word.
The best part? It’s free for your employees AND your company, as long as we’re in-network with your health insurance plan.

On-demand courses
Hourlong presentations are great for explaining simple wellness concepts and offering a few pieces of actionable advice. But sometimes, employees want to dive deeper into certain concepts and practices that resonate with them. We’ve developed a handful of on-demand courses — each contains video modules and downloadable workbooks — that employees can complete on their own time. Our existing courses are:
- Blood Sugar Management 101
- SMART Goal Setting for Lasting Change
We’re always creating new courses, and we’re open to creating custom courses to fit your needs. If you’re interested in giving your employees access to an existing course or a custom course, schedule a call and we’ll get things started.
